Security Booklet Initiative

The initiative aims to spread security culture, simplify it for the general public, combine facts, analyses and new visions, and make security sciences easy to read and understand.

Submission Requirements:

  • The booklet must be prepared by a specialist expert in one of the security sciences.
  • The author of the booklet must be affiliated with an academic, research institution, or international organization.
  • The topic of the booklet must be in one of the security sciences.
  • The number of words should not exceed 10,000 (ten thousand) words starting from the introduction and ending with the conclusion.
  • Avoid complex scientific language, while adhering to scientific facts and presenting them in an easy and simple style.
  • The booklet must not have been previously published in whole or in part.
  • The author must adhere to the ethics of scientific research and intellectual property rights.
  • The contract concluded between the university and the author determines the rights of intellectual property and publication.
  • The booklet should be shorter and more concise compared to a security book, but not less reliable.
 

Security Book Initiative

The initiative aims to author specialized books that enrich security knowledge and keep pace with the latest methodological and theoretical developments in their subject matter. These books should relate to the university's research priorities and target the specialized scientific community.

Submission Requirements:

  • The principal applicant must be a faculty member or researcher within the university.
  • The book must be within the author's area of specialization.
  • The book must be original and not a translation from a foreign language.
  • The book must not have been previously published in whole or in part, and must not be extracted from a scientific thesis.
  • The author must adhere to the ethics of scientific research and intellectual property rights.
  • The book will be subject to peer review by specialists.

Translated Book Initiative

This initiative aims to enrich the Arabic library with knowledge in the security field.

Submission Requirements:

  • The book must be consistent with the university's research priorities.
  • The book to be translated must not have been published more than 3 years ago.
  • If the book has multiple editions, the most recent one must be used.
  • The book must not have been previously translated in whole or in part.
  • The book must be one of the best sources in the specialization.
  • The book must have tangible scientific or practical relevance.
  • The book must be in English and not translated from another language.
  • It is preferable for the book to be a reference or textbook that serves the university's academic programs.
  • The book should target a wide range of beneficiaries.
 

Funded Research Projects Initiative

This initiative aims to:

  • Develop joint interdisciplinary publications and research.
  • Improve quality and increase scientific impact.
  • Encourage publishing in indexed journals (Scopus, Web of Science).
  • Develop the expertise of new students and researchers.
  • Provide a research environment to enhance collaboration between faculty, researchers, and students.
  • Promote local and international research cooperation.
  • Enrich the security library.
 

Guidelines for applying to the funded research project initiative

  • The applicant must be a faculty member at the university and the head of the research group.
  • The research proposal must be within the specialization of the principal researcher.
  • It is preferable to apply through a research group of at least 3 members.
  • Student participation from within the university is preferred.
  • The scientific originality of the research idea and its content must be considered.
  • The research project has an identification number that is referred to in correspondence and in scientific publications.
  • The contract signed between the university and the researchers regulates the implementation procedures and controls of the funded research.
  • The duration of the research proposal should not exceed 12 months, which can be extended for a similar period if necessary.
  • Approval from the Research Ethics Committee must be obtained for research requiring ethical approval.
  • Specialized researchers from outside the university can participate, provided their number does not exceed 50% of the total research team.
  • The output of the research proposal should be scientific papers classified in (Web of Science) for applied sciences, and "Scopus" for humanities, according to the approved proposal.
  • It is not permissible to join researchers from outside the approved team during the implementation period, except after presenting justifications for their need and obtaining approval from the Vice-Presidency for Scientific Research.
