Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and the General Directorate of Border Guards, in cooperation with the International Organization for Migration, organized on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, a workshop entitled “Port Security: Border Guards and their Role in Maritime Search and Rescue". The workshop was presented in the presence of His Excellency the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah AlBanyan, the acting Director of the General Directorate of Border Guards Major General Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Shehri, and representatives of the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, atthe headquarters of the Jeddah Academy for Maritime Science and Security Studies.

The workshop, in which (120) participants from (12) Arab countries took part, is an extension of the cooperation agreement between the General Directorate of Border Guards and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in organizing many events and academic workshops that deal with important security issues and contribute to meeting the needs of various security services. The workshop is also an extension of the efforts of the International Organization for Migration in helping to find international cooperation concerning migration, in helping to find practical solutions to migration problems, and in providing humanitarian assistance to migrants.
