HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, has issued a decision appointing Prof. Tariq bin Saleh Al-Rayes as Vice-President of NAUSS.
Prof. Tariq Al-Rayes has expressed his thanks and gratitude to HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the University, for his trust, praying to Allah Almighty he would live up to the expectations and to help him render all possible efforts to serve this Arab leading security institution. Prof. Al-Rayes also extended his sincere thanks to His Excellency Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Albanyan, the President of the University, for his support and assistance, asking Allah Almighty to guide him in undertaking his new responsibilities and tasks.
In this context, it is worth mentioning that Prof. Tariq Al-Rayes, who has served as NAUSS Vice-President for Academic Affairs, had held several positions prior to joining NAUSS including Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dean of the College of Education, Dean of Student Affairs, and Executive Director of Public Education Sector in the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. Moreover, Prof. Al-Rayes, occupied several positions at King Saud University as chairman and member of various committees, including member of the Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research, member of the Ethics Committee of Scientific Research at the Deanship of Scientific Research, and member of the University Council. In addition, he occupied several positions including Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Deans of Colleges of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of the Permanent Committee of Narcotics Control at the Ministry of Education, member of the Committee of Deans of Student Affairs in universities and higher education institutions in the GCC, and member of the Advisory Council of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. Besides being member of the Committee of Experts of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization charged with the development of an Arab plan to improve educational institutions for people with special needs.
Prof. Tariq Al-Rayes received his doctoral degree in Education and Teaching the Deaf from Lamar University (Texas, USA), and received master's degree in Deaf Education from the University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA), and bachelor's degree in special education from King Saud University.
Furthermore, Prof. Al-Rayes was awarded the Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for scientific excellence in his Doctorate.
