More than 150 theses and studies on the environmental security, environmental hazards prevention, and rescue operations have been discussed by NAUSS. Such theses and studies contribute to the knowledge dissemination for enhancing the preparedness and developing techniques to encounter disasters and reduce their repercussions on the human, social, economic, and environmental levels in the Arab countries. Many relevant issues that primarily include the civil defence role and the potential hazards associated with natural and non-natural environments have been explored. The rescue operations and their programs and techniques employed in cases of disasters, fires, and floods have been highlighted.

NAUSS's theses and studies shed light on various environmental issues and their relevant hazards. They also demonstrate that civil defence procedures play an important role in encountering disasters. The role of mass media and the necessity to be employed in a more effective way to promote the public awareness of the environmental hazards are elucidated. The precautionary measures that should be adopted are also explained.

Moreover, the theses and studies focus on the behaviors of children and adults that may create hazards. They pay attention to the family role in monitoring and protecting their children. The geographical distribution of the civil defence centers and how the good distribution creates a chance to rapidly deal with the urgent cases have been expounded. These centers should cover a wider area and their numbers should be increased to encounter all the potential hazards.

In addition, NAUSS's theses and studies show the natural environment elements including the open wells and predators that may constitute a potential source of hazards. They stress that safety procedures should be taken, and informative signs should be placed for warning the citizens of the natural environment's hazards.

It is worth mentioning that NAUSS's Security Research Center has also issued more than 34 peer-reviewed scientific studies. The latest one is a study on “The Civil Defence and Human Security" issued in 2019.
