Leading expert and international lecturer in cybercrime, information security, and technology
He works as an expert on digital transformation at the Egyptian Public Prosecution Office and directs the Professional Master's Program in Cybercrime Investigation at the British University in Egypt.
Additionally, Dr. El-Gindy has served as a consultant in cybercrime and information technology for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) since 2016, providing capacity-building training programs for law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Moreover, he served as an information security advisor to the Assistant Prime Minister of the Egyptian Cabinet, the Information and Decision-Making Support Center, from 2020 to 2021.
Since 2008, he has represented the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) in Egypt. He also plays a key role at UNESCO, annually representing Egypt at their Information for All Programme (IFAP) conferences and contributing to global declarations relevant to technology, cyberspace, and artificial intelligence ethics. Dr. El-Gindy is further involved as a member of the UNESCO IFAP Working Group in Paris.
Dr. El-Gindy maintains a strong media presence. Since 2004, he has hosted a unique TV program on Cairo and People channel, focusing on technology and its impacts. This long-running program boasts over 300 episodes. Notably, Dr. El-Gindy delivered a prestigious lecture on cyber warfare and social media at the 31st Educational Symposium of the Armed Forces in 2019, speaking directly to H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. He continues to share his expertise on cybercrime, information security, and artificial intelligence with security, judicial, and military entities.
Dr. El-Guindy holds a Ph.D. in Information Security from Hong Kong, and a Ph.D. in Information Technology, along with a Fellowship from the Royal Institution in the UK (Chartered Institute for IT). Furthermore, he boasts a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from City and Guilds. In addition, Dr. El-Guindy's credentials are further bolstered by esteemed certifications in the UK, including Chartered Engineer (CEng) from the Engineering Council UK, Chartered Scientist (CSci) from the Science Council UK, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and member of the Institute of Science and Technology in the UK (IST UK) and a prominent member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the United States. He is also a consultant to the Royal Institute of Information Technology and the Science Council in the UK and a member of the Information Security Experts Group at the World Economic Forum. He has authored Arabic books, including "The Maze of Terrorism: The Middle East from the Caliphate to Terrorism in Cyberspace" (2020).
