Because of the great importance of forensic science, governments around the world provide trained forensic scientists and well-equipped laboratories. Therefore, there is a great demand to train and develop the next generation of forensic science technical experts and leaders in this constantly changing specialist field.

Naif Arab University for Security Sciences aims to prepare qualified scientific and professional cadres to work in Arab forensic laboratories, which contributes to the development of peace, security, and justice in Arab society.

Research in the field of forensic sciences is developing at a rapid pace at the international level, and there is a need to develop forensic laboratories that can coordinate and develop research and training trends in the field of forensic sciences, in addition to disseminating advanced research between Arab countries and other countries.

As scientific knowledge increases and becomes more complex, the need for forensic science as a coordinated platform for research and development along with the need for effective training is becoming evident throughout the world.

Forensic science laboratories

Forensic Genetics

This unit analyzes DNA samples and body fluids to identify suspects, victims, and evidence in criminal investigations. DNA analysis is one of the most reliable and powerful forensic tools in solving crimes and providing evidence in the justice system.

Forensic Toxicology

It specializes in analyzing body fluids and tissues to qualitatively detect and quantitatively determine drugs and their metabolites, alcohol, and other toxins that may have contributed to the commission of a crime or death. Forensic toxicology is crucial in determining the cause and manner of death in homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths.

Forensic Chemistry

This unit uses chemical analysis to identify and compare substances such as drugs, explosives and gunshot residue found at crime scenes. Forensic chemistry plays a vital role in identifying suspects and providing evidence relating to drug crimes, terrorism cases, and firearms-related crimes.

Documents Documents ​

This module analyzes documents such as handwriting, signatures, and typewritten documents to determine originality, identity, and writer. Analyzing questionable documents is crucial in solving cases involving handwriting examination, fraud, forgery, and identity theft.​

Chemistry of Material Effects

It is concerned with analyzing small physical traces such as fibers, hair, glass, and paint to match them with specific sources and provide evidence in criminal investigations. Tracking chemistry is vital in solving cases involving hit-and-runs, robberies, and sexual assaults.

Fingerprint scan

Her work focuses on analyzing fingerprints found at crime scenes to identify suspects and link them to specific crimes. Fingerprint analysis is one of the oldest and most reliable forensic techniques used in solving crimes

Crime scene investigation

This unit collects and analyzes physical evidence found at crime scenes, including DNA samples, bodily fluids, hair, fibers, and other trace materials. Crime scene investigation is essential to identify suspects, reconstruct the crime scene, and provide evidence in criminal investigations. State-of-the-art crime scenes are also being developed to provide world-class training and research facilities for students and professionals.

Firearms and firing marks

This unit examines firearms, bullets, cartridges (projectiles), and firing marks to determine if they have been used in a crime and to match them to specific firearms or tools. Examination of firearms and tool marks is critical in solving homicides, robberies, and other firearm-related crimes.​​
