Higher Diploma Program in Human Rights and Criminal Justice

International agreements and treaties have placed significant importance on the principles and rights of human beings since the establishment of the United Nations and the issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They express the desire of the United Nations and its member states to uphold the human rights stated in this declaration. However, the level of commitment among member states varies based on various cultural, religious, political, economic, and other criteria. Consequently, international courts dedicated to human rights issues have emerged, such as the International Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights. The scope of human rights topics has expanded to include fundamental human rights, environmental rights, the rights of vulnerable groups, human rights in criminal proceedings, and others. Recognizing the importance of addressing human rights issues and applications in Arab countries compared to international laws and practices, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences has recognized the need to establish an academic program dedicated to human rights. Therefore, the Higher Diploma Program in Human Rights and Criminal Justice aims to prepare specialists and experts in human rights, in response to the growing needs of security, justice, and human rights institutions.
