​​​​Brief Biography :

Prof. Shafra is currently serving as the President of the University of Tunis El Manar, a position he has held since 2020. Prior to assuming this role, he held various significant positions, including Director of the Preparatory Institute for Engineering Studies at the University of Tunis El Manar, member of the University Council, and Chairman of the Ph.D. Committee in Applied Mechanics at the Polytechnic School of Tunisia. Prof. Shafra obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanics from the National Institute of Arts and Crafts in Paris in 1994. He also holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Mechanics of Solid Materials and Structures from Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, which he obtained in 1991. In 2011, he conducted research as a visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University in the United States. Throughout his career, Prof. Shafra has actively participated in distinguished research projects and collaborations with international institutions, leading to numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals. His research contributions have significantly contributed to the field of applied mechanics.
