The Department of Criminology was established to align with the university's scientific orientations and strategic plan by preparing specialized security cadres in the field of criminology through enriching the cognitive and practical levels, developing creative, critical, and scientific research skills, and familiarizing students with knowledge, studies, and methods of professional practice in the field of crime. The department currently offers a Master of Arts in Criminology program, which is a leading program in the Arab world.
