Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, in cooperation with the Public Prosecution Office of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is organizing a conference on "Restorative Justice in Contemporary Criminal Politics."
The Conference will be held from January 19 to 21 January, at the Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center in the Dead Sea, in Amman. It will be held under the auspices of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein, the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
A group of experts from ministries of justice, judicial bodies and relevant authorities from 23 countries and organizations will participate in the conference.
The conference aims to identify the importance of restorative justice, its historical development and philosophical rooting, clarify the mechanisms and means of restorative justice in resolving criminal disputes, and exchange international experiences in this field.
It also aims to examine the challenges facing the application of restorative justice, and to ensure that Arab legislation keeps pace with developments in contemporary criminal policy.
The conference will discuss many topics related to the importance of restorative justice and its applications in contemporary legal systems, areas of application and the challenges and obstacles facing it. It will also present proposals for the development of alternatives to criminal procedures in Arab criminal justice laws and institutions.

“Enhancing Regional And International Cooperation In The Area Of Restorative Justice";
“Development And Setting Up A National Service Offering Restorative Justice To Sexual Harm Victims";
“Promoting Restorative Justice Through Informal Justice in Arab Societies: Policy Options".
The Conference reflects the efforts of NAUSS as the scientific body of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, and as an observer member of the Arab Justice Ministers Council.
The University seeks to strengthen the efforts of justice institutions in applying alternative penalties and updating Arab criminal justice and punitive mechanisms.
The university pays great attention to the issue of adopting alternative penalties as a means to develop the performance of criminal justice in the Arab countries. It organized many scientific conferences and seminars, and provided scientific studies and policy papers in this field.
