He has over 18 years of experience in the humanitarian relief sector, primarily in displacement tracking and migration data.
Mudar joined IOM in 2008 and played a significant role in Iraq and Syria, leading displacement tracking activities and emergency response efforts.
In November 2022, he assumed the position of Data Hub Coordinator at IOM’s Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa where he supported evidence-based discussions on human mobility with a particular focus on strengthening primary and secondary data collection at the regional level to inform policies on migration governance.
Additionally, Mudar holds the position of Area Data Specialist for the Middle East and North Africa region.
His education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from the University of Mosul and a Master’s degree in Humanitarian Relief Operations from the Italian Swiss University.
