Regional Expert on Combating Human Trafficking – UNODC Office for the GCC Region
Practical Experience: With over 20 years of experience in the field of studies and training in crime and organized crime prevention, particularly in cases of human trafficking, Dr. Aldweikat is well-versed in training of trainers' programs. Previously, he held positions as the head of the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit in Jordan and the head of the Training Department at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation in Jordan. Furthermore, he has worked as a consultant and trainer with various international organizations, focusing on training and developing strategies and mechanisms to address human trafficking cases. Some of the organizations he has collaborated with include the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the International Organization for Migration, and the United Nations Human Rights Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa. His work has spanned across numerous countries in the Middle East and North Africa, specifically in training and developing strategies to combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling, particularly for law enforcement agencies and Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Moreover, he has contributed to the development of the Arab strategy to combat human trafficking endorsed by the League of Arab States. He has also served as an instructor in the academic field, specifically at Isra University in Jordan, and has conducted several studies on emerging crimes, organized crime, and human trafficking.
